About Butcher 101:

Are you a home cook looking to take your meat preparation skills to the next level?

This course, taught by an experienced butcher, gives you all the foundational skills you need to cut, prep, and store meat like the pros.

Through live demonstrations, and a hands-on approach, you'll learn how to:

Sharpen your knife skills for precision cutting, breaking down whole primal cuts & packaging (beef, pork, chicken)

By the end of the course, you’ll be confidently preparing restaurant-quality meals at home.

Class Details

  • Intro to Butchering Class 1 is required before moving onto other courses.

  • Class sizes are up to 6 people.

  • Private 1 on 1 sessions can be arranged for additional fee.

  • All meat you cut & package is yours to take home at the end of the class & is included in class fee.

  • Class length is approximate.

  • You will be provided with all tools needed.

  • You must wear closed toed shoes and clean clothing.

  • All knives, Hairnets, Coats, etc. will be provided to you for use during class.

Intro to Butchering

Class 1

  • Learn how to safely handle, maintain & store knives & meat.

  • Learn foundational cutting techniques for control & consistency.

  • Learn proper knife use to breakdown a Whole Chicken (2).

You will take home your knife & the meat you have cut & packaged.

This intro class is required before attending any other class.

Intro to Butchering 101

Class 2

  • Learn how to trim a Boneless & Break down a Bone In Pork Loin.

  • Learn how to cut into Chops, Roasts, Schnitzel & Kabobs.

You will take home the meat you have cut & packaged.

Smoker Basics

  • Learn how to trim a Brisket

  • Learn how to Spatchcock (flatten) a Whole Chicken

  • Learn how to Prep Back Ribs for Cooking

You will take home the meat you have cut & packaged.
